Volunteer with us

Get involved as a volunteer at the Ulster American Folk Park! Volunteers help us do more and be more, through activities such as events support, carrying out valuable research, cataloguing parts of our collections and valuable conservation and growing in our green spaces and heritage cottage gardens. Volunteers enable us to reach more people, increase accessibility to our collections and ensure that our museums remain relevant and welcoming to a wide range of audiences.

Bluegrass is back and so is Bluegrass Festival Volunteering!

There are lots of ways for you to get involved as a volunteer this year! Volunteers play a key part in providing a warm welcome to festival goers and ensuring that everyone has a great experience. You can also help gather important feedback from our visitors to help shape future events. This is a brilliant and fun way to get involved in the festival, gain valuable experience in areas such as customer service, hospitality and engaging with the public or simply just have fun!

We are looking for people who have excellent communication skills, can follow directions and work as part of a team, and are enthusiastic about good customer service.

Important information

You must be over 18 to volunteer
You must be able to volunteer for a minimum of 4.5 hours
Please note, this role can sometimes be physically demanding and you may be on your feet for long periods of time
We will reimburse agreed travel expenses in line with our expenses policy
Refreshments will be provided
Once your volunteer shift is completed, you are welcome to enjoy the remainder of the day free of charge
