Literature of Irish Exile: Carleton, Montague and Migration

With the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies in partnership with the William Carleton Society

A roof and chimney at the folk park
Date
Saturday 2nd November
Time
10:30 to 12:30

This autumn school focuses on the influence of two Tyrone writers, William Carleton (1704 - 1869) and John Montague (1929 - 2016).  Though they lived almost two hundred  years apart, they portrayed rural life in a very profound way. Through presentations and drama this event will hopefully stimulate reflection on the themes of landscape, memory and exile.

Contributions by Dr. Paddy Fitzgerald, Dr. Liam Campbell and Liam Foley.
